White Thunder by Aimee & David ThurloItem: White Thunder by Aimee & David Thurlo Book
I like this episode in the Ella Clah series by Aimee and David Thurlo. Since her near death experience in an earlier book, Ella is different. She’s less confident that her FBI training will solve all the crimes she confronts and is more willing to recognize the parts of her that are one of Dineh. She also hasn’t had as many problems with other tribal members. Since she has mellowed and doesn’t seem so intent on always being right, she finds that she gets along better without even trying to fit in. I enjoy reading of Ella’s growth as person. I enjoy watching her recognize that her way isn’t the only way, a very un-Navaho attitude. She’s starting to see the balance in the Navaho world and incorporates it in her professional and personal life. In this episode an FBI agent goes mission and Ella is given the task of finding him, if he’s still alive. Ella relies on her special investigator team as well as family members and friends as she searches for the missing agent. Sadly, I’m just about done with this series and will have to find another soon. If you haven’t been reading the Ella Clah series, now would be an excellent time to start. Rating: 8
