To me, Obsession for Women by Calvin Klein is a classic perfume. I love the combination of orange, peach and spices that are featured in Obsession. I even remember the first time I wore this perfume. A friend of mine got it for a Christmas gift from her boyfriend. She wasn’t crazy about it and frankly, it took me a while to get used to the stronger fragrance of it, but gradually it became a perfume that I wore all the time. My friend let me try the Obsession perfume and I really liked it. I didn’t buy a bottle for myself until a few years later when the store was having a special on Calvin Klein products. I’m not sure if they were giving away something for free or if it was a discount of a product, but I do remember purchasing the Obsession and getting another Calvin Klein product with it. My mother is a fan of Obsession, as she loves the stronger, bolder perfumes. Even though I really like this perfume, I find that it is a little stronger than perfumes that I am used to. If I just wear a small amount, the smell is lovely and the peach, orange and spices really shine through, however, if I put too much on, I feel like the individual fragrances of peach and orange blend together too much and even change the fragrance. This is an extremely long lasting perfume in my opinion. Obsession lasts for a very long time, and this is why I only wear a moderate amount of it because I find that if I apply too much of it, it starts to smell to overpowering.

I also notice that if I get some Obsession on my clothing, it’s hard to remove the scent. Even after washing the clothes, somehow I can still detect the scent. It usually takes a few washings before the perfume scent is completely gone from my clothing. Maybe I don’t realize just how much I am putting on. I like to wear Obsession during the evening only because it’s a bolder scent that I don’t feel comfortable wearing to work. Even though this perfume has a beautiful fragrance, it is stronger than the scents that I usually wear to work and I feel that it might be too much. I was at the store the other day and I noticed one of those imitation colognes that said “if you like Obsession, then you will like this.” I sprayed a little on to try it, but to me, it didn’t smell anything like Obsession. The Obsession was so much richer and vibrant smelling than the imitation. I love Obsession and I will continue to wear it for certain evening special occasions.
