The Flaming Dragon, Sheffield, UKItem: The Flaming Dragon, Sheffield, UK
After booking tickets for the cinema recently, me, my brother and our respective three children decided to have some lunch in one of the restaurants around the cinema complex at Centertainment in Sheffield before seeing our film. We chose Flaming Dragon. This is a smart looking restaurant with very reasonable prices, especially for the lunch time menu. They run a Chinese buffet at £3.00 per child and £5.50 per adult. There is a good choice of food at the Flaming Dragon and none of us, including the children, three picky eaters, were stuck for something we liked from the selection.
There is a nice atmosphere in the Flaming Dragon, with cheerful, chatty staff who manage to tread the fine line between being available to help and attend to you without bothering you too much while you eat. The food is of a high standard, including deserts and a help-yourself ice cream machine. It all feels very relaxed and I even noticed members of staff, presumably on their lunch breaks, walking around the buffet filling plates with prawn toast and lemon chicken. You know a restaurant is good when the staff eat there! By 12.30 the restaurant was beginning to fill up and it is obviously quite popular. The only thing that was a little bit disappointing was that the restaurant is advertised as ‘east meets west’ and includes a Brazillian Roast. This is obviously not the case in the lunch time opening though, as there was no sign of a Brazillian Roast when we were there. However, we were impressed enough to want o go back to the Flaming Dragon in the evening when hopefully we will be able to try the Brazillian Roast. Evening prices are also very reasonable with children eating for £4.50 each. Rating: 9
