I have suffered for years from pollen allergies, and I also suspect from many other random outdoor plants and who knows what else. It happens every spring, and lasts into autumn. My main issue is that it never seems to be the same things that I am allergic to, or more allergic to, from year to year. For instance, the white fluffy pollen can some years make me so miserable, with headache, sore and runny eyes and nose, stuffed up sinuses and even dizziness, and then the next year, I think I am finally getting rid of my allergies. Then there are some years that the so-called experts say is a bad year for allergies, and I have a good year. And there are also times when I can run and play tennis in with tiny flying pollen and plants flying around me and I am fine, and the next day, I have to go inside after 10 minutes. I hate the allergy medications almost as much as suffering from allergies, because they make me tired, fuzzy and irritable. But I have now found something that I really
like.

On the advice of my doctor, I filled a prescription for Nasonex, a nasal spray. He explained that the difference between this spray and the others I have tried in the past and gave me a sore nose, was that this one works most effectively with regular use, beginning before the pollen season starts and taken every day, just once a day. This is very different from other sprays and even other medications that you take as soon as you start feeling the symptoms coming on. I had to swallow hard at the price, even with some of it covered by medical ($80 for a 3 month supply), but I needed some relief.

I did not notice anything different for 4 days, and then the difference was like night and day. I was running in a pollen filled area and I was able to breathe easily all the way through my run, and afterward, I had no itchy eyes and runny nose, and I was not stuffed up a bit. So far, I have made it through the worst of the allergy season (I hope), with very few issues other than the occasional sneezing bout. I have recommended Nasonex to all my friends and acquaintances who suffer from allergies every spring, and two of them are also having great results with this nasal spray. Nasonex works for me and I have not suffered any side effects whatsoever.
