Thief in Retreat by Aimee and David ThurloItem: Thief in Retreat by Aimee and David Thurlo
The second book in the Sister Agatha series. When holy statutes that belong to the Catholic Church are disappearing from the retreat site where they are displayed, the Archbishop sends Sister Agatha to investigate. Once Sister arrives at the retreat building on her Harley with Pax sitting in the sidecar beside her. There she finds a conference of mystery writers, a ghost that plays tricks on the guests while leaving behind the overwhelming scent of lilac, and the body of the man who was supposed to establish the value of the church’s property. I like Sister Agatha. She is clever and bright and has just enough of a rebellious spirit to be interesting. I find myself laughing at the image of a nun, complete with one of the older style habits, riding a Harley with a very large, white German Shepherd though the small town near the monastery. The third book in the series has just been released and I can’t wait to read it! Rating: 8
