When I was growing up one of my favorite shows to watch on television was the show Alf. Alf was an alien from the planet Melmac who had somehow managed to become stranded on Earth with a broken spaceship and nowhere to live. Alf comes to live with the Tanners a typical American family with a mother, father, son and daughter. The family stuggles to keep Alf a secret from the neighbors and Alf manages to get himself involved in all sorts of mishaps that could potentially put him in the spotlight. One really interesting/funny fact about the show is that on Alfs planet cats are considered food rather than pets. On many occasions the tanners encounter Alf attempting to capture or eat their cat. This is a great wholesome children program from the 80s, and was recently released on DVD so it can be watched at home whenever you want.
