TOO FACED has finally come out with their kit of the season, a yearly event that never really disappoints cosmetic junkies who actually wait for this somewhat exciting event. This year they have capitalized on what is being shown in all the magazines as the fashion of the season, what all the stars and models are wearing, neutrals.
You can never really go wrong with neutrals so like all of the previous kits that this company has introduced this one is definitely going to be a hit. Neutrals look good on all skin tones from African American to Hispanic to Caucasians. Therefore, it makes sense that Too Faced decided to go with neutrals for this years biggest kit. Personally, I am half English and half Irish so I have fairly pale skin. However, neutrals still look good on me, you just have to know the correct technique for accurate application. It is also important to use the right tools. When you are paying $34, a somewhat large chunk of change for eye shadow your finger is simply not going to do the trick when applying these eyeshadows. I use brushes made by Sephora because they are the best bang for your buck. They are made with real hair and provide for a perfect application every time. They are clearly labelled as eye shadow brush, crease brush, etc., so you really can’t mess up. But if you are really a dummy when it comes to make-up, ask a sales associate for help. Sephora only hires the best of the best when it comes to knowledgeable make up artitsts, I should know because I work there. You can use this kit to create the look that every woman is currently dying to create: the smoky eye. You would not believe how many women come into Sephora asking, “How can I do a smoky eye?” as their eyes light up simply due to picturing themselves with this glamorous look featured in all of the latest magazines. This kit will allow you to create the perfect smoky eye. The best thing about this kit is that it provides three “Get the Look Instruction Cards”, one of which of course explains step by step how to do the smoky eye. Therefore, if you buy this kit you are all set to do the smoky eye on yourself. These instruction cards are fool proof and explain step by step how to get the desired look and even provide visuals for those who are truly clueless. As for the texture of the shadows themselves do I really need to comment? Of course Too Faced created the smoothest textured shadows with excellent, high pigmentation. This means that you do not need much product to get the color you need on your lids. It also means that you will use less product and the kit will last you longer. Therefore, the price tag is worth it considering you are getting nine excellently pigmented shadows, a duo sided applicator tool and of course, the three “Get the Look” Instruction cards. Too Faced did not disappoint once again. I created the most beautiful smoky eye with this kit and you will be able to also, just read the instructions and you can’t go wrong. Rating: 9
