Don’t Say A Word (R, 2001)Item: Don’t Say a Word (R, 2001) movie Here’s the scenario: A psychiatrist (Michael Douglas) and his wife’s (Famke Janssen) daughter is kidnapped and being held for ransom. The thing the kidnappers want is the ultimate clue to finding a hidden stolen gem. The person holding this clue is the very disturbed Elisabeth (Brittany Murphy) whom Dr. Conrad (Douglas) has been summoned to treat. The story is a little hokey, but fairly entertaining. Seeing Michael Douglas act opposite Famke Janssen was a little weird. They just sooo don’t seem like a couple. (But then again, he is married to La Zeta-Jones. ) Anyway, I particularly enjoyed Elisabeth’s psychosis. But the trailers for this film really had me thinking that it was going to be more suspenseful than it really was. Everyone in the movie had solid acting performances. This is just one of those suspense/drama films that you can do without.
