Cephalexin antibioticItem: Cephalexin antibiotic
Our family doctor prescribed this antibiotic for faster healing of a wound that occurred to my son below the chin after he fell face down on the floor. It was a deep cut and as required stitches just at the chin area. First the doctor recommended tissue glue. Later the cut opened up and finally had to be stitched up. This antibiotic is a 5 ml suspension and the doctor said it would help in faster healing avoiding any sort of infections in blood. The antibiotic helped in faster healing and took about 4 days to complete the course. The dosage is 5 ml three times a day. The antibiotic is a granular suspension and has to be shaken well each time. It sediments to the bottom and it is white in colour. My three year old son takes it without much hesitation and the stitches seemed less painful by second day. According to the doctor, it is a standard antibiotic prescribed for wounds. This antibiotic needs to be stopped in case of any allergic rashes. No allergies were found in my son and I believe it has helped in faster healing of the wound without infection. Rating: 9
