I am not a professional photographer but I like to shoot pictures of nature when I go out. In nature most the objects are moving and to get a sharp picture, I bought a 10 mega pixel digital camera from Kodak.
I preferred it’s easy use features, the red colored body, the reasonable price - INR 7500 and the reputation of Kodak ( I have always used Kodak cameras). It seemed very easy to operate. Previously, many of my pictures would come out blurred but with this camera’s hi-tech. features like the intelligent scene detection and intelligent capture control which automatically adjusts the camera settings like focus, exposure and ISO (upto 3200), I get clear pictures in any light condition.
I can shoot HD video (1280 × 720) at 30 fps or VGA video (640 × 480) at 15 fps and this camera allows you to zoom while shooting continuously. The sound capture is average but is enough for narration, if yu are not making professional movies. It has 3x Optical zoom.
As far as the capacity is concerned, there is no problem because I have added a 2 GB SD card in the expandable memory slot over and above the 32 MB internal memory. I can also fit in more by using the MP4 compression.
The pictures can be enlarged up to 30 × 40 in., but the pictures are noisy at this enlargement, so if you just want regular sized pictures the picture quality is very good.
I should have been happy because I had a good camera that I could use outdoors and get good pictures as well as videos with reasonable sound quality but there are certain disappointing features - the battery life is short and if the battery gets discharged without warning while I am shooting, you can not withdraw the lens and have to protect it till the battery is charged again. If you are an enthusiastic photographer then the battery will not last even for a day, so now when I go out I charge at night and hope that it will last the day. Getting a spare will solve my problem.
It is a great camera if you consider it’s size, price and don’t compare it with D-SLR.
