Amazon Kindle DeviceItem: Amazon Kindle Device
The first time I had seen the Amazon Kindle was on the Oprah show and she was saying how much she loved the device. She was saying that it was worth all the money and that someone got it for her and that she enjoyed it very much, Normally I would just think this was a plug but she had purchased one for everyone in her audience and she told them all the wonderful things that she could do with it. She also told them that they could get the books from her book club and all other books at a discount price and that the books would be delivered directly to the device. She made this electronic thing sound wonderful and that made me want to buy it but when I logged onto the website I had seen the price was $500 and that there was a $30 coupon so that it would come to $470. This was a nice discount but I could not afford to spend the money at the time because it was too expensive and the size of the device was about the same as a tablet PC which is not very big but if you think about carrying this thing everywhere and using it for reading then you would get tired pretty soon. Because of these two things I decided that I would wait and then buy the device if I still wanted it in the future. Well about a month ago someone gave one of these devices to my father as a gift as he was not using it. The device was boxed up in his living room and he had never opened it so I decided to open it and given it a shot. This was not the first Kindle but it was the new second addition and it was much cooler because it was about half the side and weighs a lot less. The weight of this device is just a few ounces and it is very easy for you to carry around with you or store in a backpack. I also enjoyed the ability to zoom in on pages which allows you to see every word. You can also make the font bigger just incase you need to and there is a backlight that works nicely. It also allows you to get the daily New York times for just $30 per a month which is a huge savings. I also found that this is great for reading on planes because it can store thousands of books at once and it does not take up any space at all so you could catch up on your reading while your flying. This new version costs $350.00 and the shipping is fee but each book will cost you about $10 for the digital version. That is cheaper than buying the book in a retail store but the last book I got was .79 on Amazon. The device has pros and cons which is mostly the cost of books but it works great.
