Knorr Orange SoupItem: Knorr Orange Soup
I bought Knorr Orange Soup at the same time I purchased Knorr Red Soup. Both were on sale for $1.99 at my local grocery store, and I have to say the sight of those fresh spring carrots on the front of the box of Orange Soup looked very appealing.
I have always loved Knorr soups, and I couldn’t wait to try the orange one. This soup contains butternut squash, carrot and curry, and each 500ml cardboard carton contains 1 serving of both fruit and vegetables. Even better for myself and my family is the heart and stroke symbol on the front of the box. This indicates that this orange soup has met the approval of the heart and stroke foundation. One of the chief reasons I bought this soup is that I absolutely love soups that contain butternut squash; trouble is they are usually cream soups that are high in calories and fat and with this one I couldn’t wait to try this version. While there is a little cream in this soup, one cup is only 90 calories with 3 grams of protein and 3 grams or twelve percent of my daily fibre needs. This is a great tasting soup. I could definitely taste the carrots, butternut squash and the curry flavour was tasty and not overpowering, and I could detect just a hint of onion which this soup contains. I absolutely adored this soup and now often use it as a base for casseroles, knowing that just one cup of this stuff gives me 40% of my daily vitamin A requirements and 20% of my vitamin C. Knorr have hit a winner with their orange soup, and I will definitely buy it again. If you like vegetable soups and are tired of high sodium condensed cans of vegetable soups then give orange soup a try, you won’t be disappointed. Rating: 9
