Eye Med Vision CareItem: Eye Med Vision Care
The latest vision provider for where I worked was Eye Med Vision Care. I had occasion to do some dealings with them so am writing this review.
Overall, as a basic provider, Eye Med Vision Care does just fine. My eye examination was covered in total, and they paid for a hundred dollars towards the frame of my glasses. I did have a twenty-dollar co-pay. However, it would be nice if Eye Med Vision Care went a bit beyond just the basic. With my vision, I require progressive glasses. That’s an extra sixty-dollars that they don’t pay any part of, unfortunately. They also don’t contribute anything towards any extras, such as scratch protection. After my recent eye examination and ordering of prescription glasses, it became necessary to contact Eye Med Vision Care. There was a problem with my glasses and the eye doctor had thought that perhaps they could return my money and the insurer would allow me to go elsewhere to fill the prescription, even though my coverage had ended at that point. That sounded strange to me, but I wanted to check it out. I was right, unfortunately. Eye Med Vision Care isn’t able to do that kind of thing. However, I was very impressed with the representative I spoke to. It did take a couple of minutes to go through and pressing a few buttons as a part of their automatic answering system, but once I got to the gal, she was very nice. She understood my question and was patient with me as she tried to explain the answer and give me any other possible alternatives. There really was only one, but it wasn’t feasible, considering that was the day the policy was expiring. However, she spent as much time as I needed to ensure that I understood what she was saying and the options, limited as they were. I was impressed with her courtesy. I never once felt like she was anxious to disconnect the call or frustrated that I wanted to go over it one more time. She was the epitome of what a customer service representative should be. So, I wish Eye Med Vision Care’s coverage was a little more widespread, but at least they cover the very basics and they do have responsible and knowledgeable agents to talk to, if necessary.
