Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon Bits is a product I’ve been using for the last few years since it first came out. As always, Hormel is one of my trusted brands, so when they come out with something new that I’m in need of, I’m not hesitant to give it a try.
The unique element of Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon Bits was that it came in a pouch designed to keep the bacon fresh and that the bacon bits were made of real bacon. Hormel has added smoke flavoring to the bits. One regular package is equal to one pound of uncooked bacon. The serving size is one teaspoon, and there are 17 of those inside, according to the labels on the package. It’s the real bacon taste that stands out in this product. It makes a noticeable difference between this item and other similar products on the market. I use my Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon Bits all the time. They are great in salads, of course, but I love to put them in sandwiches, especially turkey or ham sandwiches to spice them up a little. I purchased some meatloaf the other day and added some bits to that to give it more bacon flavor, which I especially love. I also mix it in with one of my favorite egg recipes. There are hundreds of ways to use the bacon bits, and they make anything better. The package is resealable, which is a nice plus.
