Stargate SG-1: The Serpent’s Venom

Item: Stargate SG-1: The Serpent’s Venom
Location:
by Orrymain

Stargate SG-1: The Serpent’s Venom has one of the best Jack and Daniel moments ever. It’s a silly little bit, but it’s priceless.

With Teal’c away on a mission, Jacob arrives and solicits the team’s help to stop the successful negotiation of a treaty between two of the System Lords, Apophis and Heru’ur. A coalition of Goa’uld would be detrimental to Earth and the galaxy. The Tok’ra have secured an ancient mine and plan on exploding it at the site of the Goa’uld negotiations. It’s up to Daniel and Sam and to translate the information they’ve acquired and arm the mine.

The scene I mentioned at the beginning is right before the group departs. Daniel has apparently dropped his books and is picking them up when Jack steps out of the elevator to help. The two banter a bit and then in the elevator, Jack silences Daniel by sliding his glasses up his nose. It’s disarming and so wonderfully cute.

The show has a lot of nice Daniel and Sam working together moments, along with more Jack and Jacob interplay about who’s in charge. It’s pretty funny stuff.

The mission itself has a lot of surprises in it, and as is predictable, nothing goes as planned.

Very nice episode and always fun to watch.

While Teal'c is on Chulak, he is captured by Hera'uer's guards and taken to his ship. At the SGC, the Tok'ra send Jacob/Selmak a message. Jacob's vacation with Sam is over when he hears the message. Thanks to Taneth, the Tok'ra have intercepted a message ...

In the wake of sea serpents By Bernard Heuvelmans
This is quite the tome. It weighs in at over 600 pages, but within those pages is the single most comprehensive look at sea serpent from Antiquity to about 1965. Bernard Heuvelmans, the author, holds nothing back in this book and crams in as many sightings as he ...

Black Widow Venom Hammer Bowling Ball
I initially was drawn to the Black Widow Venom Hammer bowling ball because of the wonderful colors and design on the front of the ball. Let’s face it. Part of bowling is having a ball that is exciting and powerful at the same time. The Black Widow Venom Hammer ...

Stargate SG-1: The Serpent’s Lair
Season 2 of Stargate SG-1 opens with an emotional conclusion to the season-ending arc of the prior year. It's a gripping tale that will bring tears to many, smiles to even more, and an absolutely wonderful ending that spawned the legendary Space Monkey. Stargate SG-1: The Serpent's Lair has ...

Stargate SG-1: Within the Serpent’s Grasp
Stargate SG-1: Within the Serpent's Grasp is the last episode of season 1, the end of the 3-story season-ending arc, and the first of the 2-part cliffhanger. That's a lot of show! As mentioned in prior reviews, Daniel Jackson has a way of getting through to Jack O'Neill, and ...

Stargate SG-1: Serpent’s Song
Stargate SG-1: Serpent's Song is an interesting entry in the SG-1 second season. Peter Williams returns as Apophis, seeking asylum from the Tau'ri of all people. Unable to leave the injured Goa'uld behind, SG-1 brings him back to Earth. Then things really start to heat up, ...

Stargate SG-1: Prodigy
Stargate SG-1: Prodigy is somewhat of a let down, mainly because Michael Shanks isn't in it at all. He was given the week off to concentrate on the upcoming episode that he was directing. Actually, this wasn't originally how it was supposed to be, but it's how ...

Stargate: Infinity: Who Are You? TV Show
It's a common piece of advice, a cliche even, that things aren't always what they seem. That's the first lesson of Stargate: Infinity: Who Are You? which is the children's animated version of the hit science fiction series, Stargate SG-1, only there's very little that really resembles that ...

Overview – Black Metal, the second album released by Venom, continues in the very heavy and fast sound that Venom introduced on Welcome To Hell and once again proves why they’re considered so influential to both the thrash metal and black metal genres. I think that out of all ...
