I was able to get this system from an online source for $34.99 plus taxes after all discounts and even free shipping. The Logitech X 540 is an amazing surround sound system if you have a room less than 15′ x 15′ with your computer in it. If you have a 7.1 surround compatible sound card, it makes the experience even better. I have tested these against $400 Bose 3.1’s and the Logitech easily beats them. The best feature of the X 540 is the mega bass it comes with. I placed it underneath my desk which is on the second floor of my house and when I turn the volume up only to half range, it shakes the floor. Luckily I have a Sound Audigy ZS2 7.1 sound card in my computer so I can adjust the type of sounds which come out; I can even make it sounds as though I’m inside an opera theater. One downfall of the system is that it is fully wired. More expensive systems have wireless options so you do not have wires running on your floor, but I have been able to run my wires such that I never see them. All the speakers, less the woofer can be mounted; and even turned either vertical or horizontal to match your taste. I cannot actually turn the volume up past three quarters or everything in my room starts to buzz. Final thought; they are better than Bose 3.1’s in sound quality, maximum volume, and in price. Buy them.
