Yamaha Aerox YQ100 mopedItem: Yamaha Aerox YQ100 moped
I have a new moped, well nearly new. It’s a little Yamaha YQ100 Aerox, in the UK. Although it’s call a 100 it’s actually a 101cc output, not that that makes much difference. This is however a lovely little ped for if you are gear challenged like myself. I’ve never had a car liscence or even a proper bike liscence as I can’t stand a vehicle with gears. This is a 2002 model that I got for 750 quid. It’s a sports model, with expensive sports tyres and fuel injectors and lot’s of other stuff that I do not undersatnd not being mechanically minded. It has a good sized storage compartment, the only downside being that my helmet doesn’t quite fit in there but I can get all my wet weather stuff in there. What’s best about it is that it goes some for a hundred, in fact it’s not that much slower than a 125. I can get to 59 miles an hour on the flat and it will hold in the 50’s range for over an hour without stressing the engine, in fact I’ve overtaken a few 125 mopeds and even a couple of geared bikes! Plus it doesn’t mind distances either, I took it on a 150 mile journey as soon as I got it all for £5 petrol. Rating: 9
