Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XIXItem: Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XIX
Ok, I have to say the latest Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors (number XIX) was absolutely hillarious. It was a genius bit of writing that you haven’t seen on the show in a while. The middle skit on the show, where Homer is hired to kill celebrities, isn’t the greatest but the other two are classics. The first one, for example is a spoof of the movie Transformers. I’m not sure what was funnier, having Homer and Flanders stuck in the butts of two transformers while they are fighting or Marge convincing them not to fight each other; creating a partnership where they conquer Earth instead. And I’m still trying to figure out what exactly the robot “sex toy” was supposed to be. The last one was a funny spoof of the classic Peanuts Halloween special “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.” Only in this skit the great pumpkin was real and gets ticked off when he finds out everyone has been eating pumpkins; including roasting the unborn (pumpkin seeds). Again, it was a clever reenactment of a Halloween classic. This is one of the better Treehouse of Horrors episodes and I’m glad to see something somewhat new and original; something the show has been missing recently. Rating: 8
