Mary Kay MicrodermabrasionItem: Mary Kay Microdermabrasion
I’m not sure if I’m a big fan of these two products. I don’t dislike them, but I just don’t think they live up to their claims. In the set that I purchased I received a bottle of the Step 1: Refine and a bottle of the Step 2: Replenish.
For the Step 1: Refine, the cleanser was very grainy…almost like it had sand in it. I’m not going to lie, it kind of hurt! I realize that your goal is to scrub off the top layer of your face. The most sensitive areas of my face was on my upper lip and under my mouth. The product did a good job of making my skin look clean, but I don’t see this product as something that will take years off of your face. I bet that it could help make sure new lines don’t form. My face did feel smoother after using this for a few minutes, but in all honesty, I have had the same results from cheaper drug store scrubbers. The Step 2: Refine is just about worthless. To me, it’s main purpose was to cool your face after the first step. There isn’t much moisture in the Step 2, and it made my face feel very tight and annoyed. All together, it’s a decent set of face cleaning products, but again, for less money you could go to a drug store and get some better moisturizer and a scrub. I rate this product as as 6/10 because of the hype that wasn’t lived up to, and also because of the price. In my opinion, ask for a sample from your Mary Kay rep first to see if you will like it before you invest $100 for this type of cleanser. Rating: 6
