Shoe Addicts Anonymous by Beth HarbisonItem: Shoe Addicts Anonymous by Beth Harbison
I received this book for my birthday from my sister in law this year and found that it was a great read. I think that this is a great gift idea for any shoe lover — and most women are indeed that.
I like the idea that women can form true, lasting relationships and friendships around the idea of shoes and that is what this book is based on. I think that the writer of this book has some great ideas in her head about friendship and women in general. I really liked how the story took several unexpected turns. I found that it was neither your standard chick flick book nor romance nor mystery but rather something of all three combined. I really like that it sort of defied categorizing. I found that I really had a hard time putting this book down. I did not find it a challenging read in any way but that is not really what this book is supposed to be. I think that it is supposed to be a light hearted view of women and their relationships with each other. I like that the writer here has formed relationships between women who are so seemingly totally different from each other. A sex line phone operator with a senator’s wife with a nanny, etc. I don’t want to give too much away. I think that this would be a great gift for any woman who likes shoes or reading. I would definitely recommend this book to others. Rating: 9
