The Jewel of the Nile (1985)Item: The Jewel of the Nile (1985)
The Jewel of the Nile, directed by Lewis Teague is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America. The original release date for this movie was December 11, 1985 for United States audiences. This movie falls in the genre of Action/Adventure/Comedy/Romance and stars Michael Douglas as Jack Colton, Kathleen Turner as Joan Wilder and Danny DeVito as Ralph.
Joan and Jack go on an adventure to a middle eastern country, they were invited their by the sheik, but when they get there, Joan is abducted and Jack along with his friend Ralph go to find and rescue her. There are no plot twists, no turns, no underlying story…this movie speaks of the jewel of the Nile and to this point we cannot see this jewel, unless they are talking about Joan being the jewel. This movie is a very nice Sunday matinee movie, a film that the whole family can sit down, relax and enjoy without any hassle. It is basically a feel good kida show, and I like that. It has no excessive language, no nudity, not much blood abd gore, and it is really classy in its attempts to keep the viewers entertained. That alone is good value for your buck in my book. You will get no complaints from me in that regard. Not many movies can boast about such things unless of course their target audience are the children and in that case we as adults are forced to sit through a kiddie movie. I like this movie for what it brings to the table, a truly entertaining film. Rating: 8
