The Fourth Protocol by Frederick ForsythItem: Book - The Fourth Protocol by Frederick Forsyth
Frederich Forsyth’s The Fourth Protocol is the story of an attempt by a dying Russian leader to implement a plan, concieved by England’s worst turncoat of all time, to swing the upcoming British general elections in favour of the Labour Party. Hidden inside the Labour party is a core of Hard Left elements which will seize power immediately after the election and install in office Britain’s first Hard Left government and immediately begin the task of converting the United Kingdom into the world’s newest Socialist state. Caught up in the midst is John Preston, a disaffected MI5 officer, who is then taken under the wing of the Cheif of the SIS, Sir Nigel Irvine. A chance discovery leads to a hint of the plot, and Preston and Sir Nigel must race against time to foil the Soviet plan. The book is a great read in typical Forsyth tradition, with the usual impeccable attention to detail. Frederick Forsyth delivers the goods again, as usual. Rating: 7
