Great cookbook for beginners or the experiencedItem: More Easy Everyday Cooking
I purchased the Better Homes and Gardens “More Easy Everyday Cooking” book a couple of years ago, and I absolutely love it! I still cook my meals from this book. I dont remember where I bought it and how much I bought it for. Whatever I payed for it was well worth it!!! This was one of my first cookbooks ever. This 288 paged book featurs delicious recipes for appetizers and snacks, salads, soups and stews, meat dishes as well as meatless dishes, seafood dishes as well dessert recipes, including cakes and cookies. My favorite appetizer recipe would have to be the “Layered Southwestern Dip” which includes a recipe for homemade tortilla chips. I also love the “Steamed beef dumplings” and the “Spinach-cheese tart”. From the soups, stew and salad menu, I love the “beef and Three-Cheese Tortellini Salad”. I made the “Seafood Chowder” for my husband and he absolutely loved it! As for the “Saucy Chicken Rigatoni”, it was so good, my husband put in a request to have that exact meal twice in one week. And dont get me started on the “Pasta Pizza”! My husband loves to cook and he is a wonderful chef, but when he read the recipe for this one, he wanted to be the one cooking it. I loved the “Pasta Pizza” so much. We even tried our own variations of it. If you love seafood like I do, you will love this book. Some of my favorite seafood dishes are from this book. I love the “Shrimp Piccata” and the “Zesty Jalapeno Fish Fillets” and my husband is a huge fan of the “Crab cakes”! Desserts from this book are also great. My family loves the “Upside-Down Chip Cake”. This is one of the best cakes I have ever eaten in my life, and I eat a lot of cake!!! My husband loves the “Best-ever Bourbon Brownies”, which quite possibly could be the best ever! My son loves the “Triple Peanut Bars”, but then again, my son is 2 and he loves anything that is sweet! I also love them, but I also love anything that is sweet! This one is up for you to decide. This book has some amazing recipes, but it also features a helpful metric information page on the last page. This was a great help for me because I used to have an American oven which featured Fahrenheit settings and now I own a Japanese oven, which features Celcius settings. I highly recommend that everyone looking to have a wonderful, delicious meal, get out of that kitchen and find this book! This is truely a wonderful book, filled with amazing recipes!!! If I could rate this book on my own scale, it would go way higher then a 10!!! I think it retails for about $19.95, maybe less because this book is a few years old. Rating: 10
