Bluebell Ice Cream FactoryItem: Bluebell Ice Cream Factory
The Bluebell Ice Cream Factory in Brenham, TX is a great attraction for anyone looking for something to do on a weekday afternoon, particularly those with children. Bluebell is a working ice cream factory, producing the majority of the ice cream for the third largest ice cream manufacturer in the country. On weekdays, between 10 and 2:30, the factory offers guided tours to members of the public for $3.
The tour begins with a short video about the history of the factory and Bluebell ice cream in general. Then it proceeds to several observation rooms where you can see the factory floor through large windows. Tour guides explain what is being made in each room and show the different processes involved in making a carton of Bluebell ice cream, along with sharing various tidbits and anecdotes about the company (for example: although Bluebell doesn’t ship to Washington D.C., ice cream was brought in especially for George Bush Sr. during his presidency). The tour lasts about 45 minutes and always ends with a free serving of ice cream. In addition to the tours, Bluebell Ice Cream Factory has an ice cream parlor which is open to the public 6 days a week where you can buy ice cream and beverages and purchase Blue Bell merchandise. This is a great place to stop on a vacation to Texas or to visit on a lazy summer day. Rating: 9

Have been a customer of yours forever. Born and raised in the grocery business and now retired. I can remember my father telling me years ago that Blue Bell Icream was the best thing since sliced bread. We purchased 1 1 2 gallons today at Kroger 1 Happy Tracks 1 Banana nut . When we got home my wife gat a small bowl of the Banana Nut and told me that it had no flavor. I didn`t believe her and tried some myself. It had very little Banana flavor at all and seemed bland. Surely not the Banana Nut we have known in the past. the code on the bottom of the carton is 030912B . Now the Happy Tracks is out of sight. Great………………. Just thought you would like to know. Sincerely, Wallace Forsyth
