Bus Stop Diner Carteret NJItem: Bus Stop Diner
Sure, we all think our favorite diner is the best and many of them are great. The Bus Stop Diner in Carteret, NJ is terrific! The diner sits in a strip mall and dates back at least 50 years. It used to be a greasy luncheonette but 3 years ago the current owners spruced it up. They closed the place to expand to the vacant space next store and doubled the space. I am going to guess it has paid off handsomely. While I have personally never seen a line, more than once I have gotten the last table. There are booths, tables and counter service. The menu is your typical menu style with everything from breakfast to steaks and desserts. Open flamed grilling makes their burgers special. This diner is clean everywhere not just the front customer space. You can easily see the prep area if you sit at the counter and much of the cooking is done directly behind the counter so you can see what you are getting. The restrooms are large and kept clean as well. The waitresses can be surly at times but isn’t that part of the diner experience? Rating: 10
