The best thing about this camera, for me, was the price. It cost me nearly £100 less than others in my family paid because they bought it when it was a new model (only a few months before). This made it a really good deal because it is a really good camera.
The second reason I am so pleased with it is that it is so simple to use and understand. As you click through the menu the options are displayed and you also get a small box that comes on and explains what the options mean. You can click on any option, take a photo to see what happens and when you return to the menu it is still on that option, so it is simple to revert back. So often with cameras I have made changes and then cannot find the option that will allow me to change back.
There is a cute option that adds a star burst effect to bright points of the image. You can preview the way the picture looks before you choose to keep it or not and when you return to menu you are still at the same option, ready to try it on another photo. This really made a difference when photographing my granddaughter in her fairy outfit. She was thrilled with the sparkly effect.
Talking about grandchildren, as we do, often!! The video mode on the Cyber-shot is another great feature. You can use it as long as you want to, there is no limit, so you don’t miss the end of a song or dance. It is then very easy to download to the computer, ready to be shared on disc or by email.
It is possible to trim photos actually on the camera. Once you have your shot you Zoom in when you preview and create the perfect photo, then you press the button and you then have the original and the edited version.
I really like the look and feel of the camera. Small, not too heavy and easily opened so you are ready to shoot in seconds. With face detection, steady shot and red eye reduction you wonder how many more features they can add to something so small.
