TELE2 RouterItem: TELE2 Router
The tele2 router is a pretty good purchase but it has both it’s ups and it’s downs. First off I’d like to start by saying that my previous modem was an ADSL which was a real nightmare. It would work for a couple of hours then shut down then start up again to then disconnect various times during the day. Now don’t get me wrong it’s o.k. for it to happen every now and then but this was totally absurd. When using an instant messenger program you would have to sign in again various times; but the most frustrating part was when you would try to download anything and the modem would lose the connection when you were at like 98% of the file. Fortunately this new TELE2 router works a lot better. A downside, but which to some is actually an upside, is that it has NO internal WI-FI connection. Now, don’t get me wrong, but i assumed that by now all of them should have had it. The potential upside is that as the wi-fi is independent you can choose when to have it on and when to turn it off. And since we don’t actually know what the potential damage these “waves” might cause it’s actually better not to be bombarded with a daily dose of this stuff. Keep in mind that tobacco wasn’t considered harmful till a few years ago, in the 30’s oppium and heroine weren’t harmful either, and the latter was actually used for medicinal purposes. The router itself works great, it keeps a constant connection and rarely ever turns off. The only real downside is that when there is a black out the phone-line also goes dead, and if you, for whatever reason, turn the modem off your phone line and alarm system (if connected to the police) also won’t work. If you do get this router you won’t be displeased, it works great, it keeps a fast, steady connection up to 300 kpbs (effective) and very rarely shuts down. If however you do get it I strongly recommend that you get a good anti-virus, and spy-ware detector. Being online for endless hours can cause irriperable damages to your software and, if unchecked, to your hardware. All in all i gotta say that i am very pleased with this purchase and I do recommend it to everyone. It’s cheap, effective and definetly worth the money you pay for it and the service. The service costs a flat fee of about 30 euro a month and the router, well that one is free. Best part is you no longer have to pay telecom but just tele2. The downside is thought that you can’t collect call your home phone from your cell phone. And that is a major downside especially in emergency cases when you realize you have no money left on the phone. Rating: 9
