Best Buy Credit CardItem: Best Buy Credit Card
After getting my bills under control and my monthly payments whittled down, I decided it was time to purchase a laptop computer. I needed it now and didn’t have the cash but did have awesome credit so opened a Best Buy credit card. This was the stupidest thing I ever did.
If you decide to go against what I’m telling you; beware. They will try and get you to sign up for a debt cancellation fee. Now, my minimum payment, which is all I can afford to pay monthly now, is 21 dollars. They slap on this fee of 9.00 every month, and last month it was 18. Now usually when I run up a bill on my credit card I try and pay it off asap, but I just can’t right now with this. How in the world am I to pay off this thing with the 9.00 cancellation fee on there? The sad thing is is that I remember agreeing to this deal because I thought it sounded like a good idea. And what’s scary to me is that I’m probably going to have to pay for the deferred finance charges since there is no finance charge for like 3 years. My deferred finance charges are now up to $60. Oh well. I’m only 27 and have never really used credit cards until now because I don’t believe in them; I’m just starting out on my own and am learning the ropes; I started college later in life so I am learning a lot of newer things others have already learned. This has just confirmed my belief that credit cards, especially a store credit card like what Best Buy has, are bad things. Not to mention interest on these babies are like 23%. Awful! Oh well. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. Luckily I only charged my laptop on there because I refuse to buy anything else with my cards, so I just have to deal with this and I’m done. Do not get a credit card! Especially do not get a Best Buy credit card; it is a rip off. Rating: 4
