This is a nice review site, writers are going to love this one. The best part it you can review anything you want, the better news is ‘anything’ does really means ‘ANY DAMN THING’!
I landed here a few days back. My first reaction what - Where the hell is the register option? I searched hard for it, but couldn’t find any! Then a friend from mylot told me that this site works differently, and I just need to submit my review, with my e-mail Id, and let them do the rest.
Ok, so this site gives you $1.5 (this is their current rate as on 14.5.07) for every approved review. They also have a bulk rate option � which is 1/5th of the current rate , i.e. 30 cents for an approved review. The concept is, if your review does not meets their standard of $1.5, then while submitting the review, you can tick a ‘bulk rate’ option, that is available there, and they generally approve that review at bulk rate. That might not look like a lot, but then you need not to write pages of analysis in that. Just some decent review about anything, a couple of good paragraphs and you are there. The bonus is the ‘Voting’ option, in which every vote in favour of your article gives you $ 0.10 extra!
I doubt if any newbie will be impressed by the site at the first looks - there are lot of things here which can turn you off - The layout is just ok; one does find it hard to navigate - Like I said earlier, they don’t have a register option, and people generally expects such a feature. Next, the site can be organized in a much more better way then its current setup. At times, I find some fonts from nowhere coming and over lapsing on the ‘write review box’.
The sites also lacks some basic features from its counterpart review sites like epinions, and mouthshut like commenting on reviews by fellow members, interaction between members, and rating (not voting) option. In fact this site lacks some of the elementary features, which a normal writer might had experienced in some other sites, and expects in to be present here as well.
Hmmm - so what now? Ok, there are things lacking in this site. BUT, at the end of the day, one can not, but be all praise for this unique site, which is in fact, a complete No-Nonsense site. There funda looks clear - You write, you get paid; you think you can write - prove it, submit 150 reviews and we will pay you,. We will certify you as well. You can become self-editor, Yes, we trust you - We make you judge of you reviews! You be nice and honest to us, and we will reciprocate the same.
My personal experience too, has been god with it. One I get tuned, I enjoyed wring on this site. The best thing is you can write on anything! There management too looks good, and they do reply to mails send to them. In fact, the way they replied to my mail was enough for me to conclude that these guys believe in no-nonsense. They don’t really seem to be bothered about anyone else. They stick to basics. It looks like they were confident about what they are doing, they have just kept this site very basic - they don’t worry about its limited features, may be most of them are from writing world, and they know that all that a writer needs is a site, where he can write anything he wants, and most of his writing can guarantee a payout. This might look stupid of me, but I sincerely think that these people understand writers psychology very well, and that is one of the main reasons of the success for this site (if not the only).
This site might looks like an ordinary site from most of angles you look at it, but this site enjoys a strong goodwill, among all the people that I have come across. As I said, these guys do know what they are doing, and they are doing their job very well indeed. I don’t think there will we many writers who won’t enjoy their stay on this site. Very much recommended for writers. A great place to enjoy what you like doing most, and getting paid for it as well. I will rate it 8 on scale of 10.
