I use a measuring tape every day. I use this Speed LNI measuring tape, as it is very easily used by me, and is very accurate. I need to measure furniture for customers, daily.
The model 53120 measures up to 16 feet, and that is a perfect size for me to use. This model is only 3 inches high and 3 inches wide, making it easy for my smaller hands to work with it. Both metric and inch graduations are shown on the very easily read tape, itself.
The actual tape (measuring part) is a bright yellow, with black numerals. If you have a difficult time seeing, this is really a good way to be able to see the numbers on the tape. They are truly clearly marked with large enough numerals for most to see.
I really enjoy the fact that this tape measure has an automatic return. Normally, when I am using a tape measure, the customer is in a hurry to see the exact size, and this ability of this tape measure to just automatically go back to ‘ready to use’ again, status is highly useful to me.
The best part, I saved for last! When I am measuring a long sofa, or another piece of furniture, it used to be difficult to keep the tape measure where I wanted it on one end, by the time I ‘got’ to the other end of the item. Using this model, I have a LOCK on the tape!
By simply pulling the tape out as long as I want, I use the well marked black ‘lock’ on the top of the tape measure, right where my index finger hits, and the tape measure will STAY there, until I unlock it! This is really useful.
On the backside of this tape measure is a clip, in order to clip the measuring tape to one’s belt, or pocket, etc.. Also, I enjoy the fact that mine is a bright, lime green. I like the color, but, the main reason, is that it is really easily spotted, should a customer forget that he/she has it in hand, when leaving the store!
This model is not heavy. Many of the tape measure at our store, ARE too heavy for me to carry around in any comfortable mannor. This one is easily kept in a pocket or clipped to your clothing, without ruining the clothing!
I use my measuring tape at home, a lot. I think people who enjoy decorating, seeing how tall the children have grown, even chopping wood to the sizes that will fit into their particularly sized fireplace can always use a tape measure in the home! One cannot even buy a well fitting pet shirt, coat, etc., without measuring the shoulders to the tail of the pet! Measuring tape uses are really unending. Children love to measure things. What a great idea for teaching children their numbers. (This is, also, great for children who enjoy following an adult who is working……..to feel useful!).
In fact, if you know of a child who seems to follow mom, dad, another working person, around a lot, ……………..a tape measure, a flashlight, are ALWAYS appreciated gifts, as they are what the adult uses a lot!
So, you have an automatically retractable tape measure with large, clear lettering that allows even those with difficulty seeing to normally see quite well. The lock will keep it where you want it, so as to keep it from retracting while you are using it. It is lightweight and small enough for smaller hands, and will not damage your clothing, while clipped onto the clothes. You have 16 feet available to measure! There is no house that I can think of, or any business, that cannot benefit from owning this measuring tape! Give it a try! Quit all the guess work, and find out how large that space really is!
