Unlike lipitor the cholesterol medicine zetia is quite different. I tried many others they would not budge my cholesterol level down. I was then placed on crestor with zetia and it made all the difference. Zetia works not directly to the heart but rather through the digestive system where we also make cholesterol, which then goes to the heart. So if you make sense to stop the cholesterol where it starts it may just do the trick rather than a drug that goes straight to the heart where it stays and builds up. I have been on crestor and zetia for well over five years and the results are amazine . I had cholesterol figures over 300, HDL and LDL were just as bad along with tryglycerides . Now that Im taking zetia and crestor my levels are always under 100 which is great as I suffer from other heart problems. Knowing Im doing something to keep my levels down is really a life saver in my book for other heart problems that could occur, or even a stroke.
