Terrorize me (please)

Living in Europe, I have experienced the fear of the whole continent against the “mighty chickens coming from far away Asia” over the last days.
When you go to the supermarket, the stands containing chickens are filled, underpriced as well. No one buys them, and the only persons that actually eats chicken these days are media personas, to demonstrate it is safe to eat chicken.
Right next to it, I read on the newspaper of the virus spreading to England, Greece, maybe (always that maybe, hovering over our heads)to other Europen countries as well.
The Germans announce that they will have found adequate vaxination until the end of 2005, others talk of total embargo measures applied on China.
And this is exactly what I want to review about: even before the EU formation, we europeans made Xmas with plastic Santa Claus(es) that came from Taiwan, had our tea made with kettles made in China, and went to our works in the morning with vehicles made in Japan.
But now, Europe’s hunger for power has awaken once more. Realizing the boost of China in the world market, we now see it everywhere:
China’s products are poorly made, they pose a danger to our health, they have bad or non-existent client service, what the heck, their chickens even have mortal viruses.
The grave question is, have things changed over a year so much? This year’s tree lamps made in Taiwan contain carcinogenetic substances, and the plastic train that I took for a present will actually melt on the spot?
A successful techique, brought all the way from the mighty empire of the United States of America. Devide & Conquer. -or was that a Roman (European) Ceasar that had told and done so?-
As we keep staying in the dark, our mouths wide open, ready to be fed with anything given - keeping our ears closed on the contrary - viruses will continue to terrify the world, people with stones will continue to be able to throw down skyscrapers, and so forth.
We, as humanity, take joy in the consent that we are no longer in the Dark ages but on the 21st century AC.
It is time we started seeing the possibility of Humanity coming together as a nation, on either economical or cultural level.
And this is exactly what this site does actually for me. I read what people thinks and i write my review of things that concern me and those I see around me. The fact that as a policy the owners of reviewstream.com have kept its objective this wide that can also enclose reviews such as this one, really tells it all.
The only way to overcome our fears is Learning, in general.

District 9 movie
Sci-fi movies for me are so formulaic. I watch one sci-fi movie, I can say that I have watched almost 90% of all the sci-fi flicks that were released in the past years because of it. Sci-fi movies with aliens are more predictable and repetitive. Aliens terrorize the human ...

Ghoulies II movie
Because we had rented the first Ghoulies movie this weekend, my wife and I decided we should watch the second one too. And, we did, despite the fact we hated the first movie. The sequel is surprisingly better than the first one. But, that really shouldn’t be saying much because ...

Spongebob: Frankendoodle
Ok, I will admit it, while one of the stupidest Spongebob Squarepants epiosodes I've ever seen, the episode "Frankendoodle" is actually quite funny; in fact, it might be one of the funnier episodes I've seen in a while. I'm still a bit confused about why a pencil lost by ...

D-War: Dragon Wars (2007)
You haven't seen a crappy movie until you have seen this movie, I mean, when I first saw the preview for this movie, I was truly expecting to see one the greatest movies featuring lots and lots of dragons and mythological creatures coming to terrorize humankind, but instead, I ...

Movie The Werewolf’s Shadow (1970)
The Werewolf's Shadow (1970) (aka Night of Walpurgis and Werewolf vs The Vampire Woman) Three cheers to Anchor Bay for releasing the most complete version of this Paul Naschy werewolf classic! It is a huge step up over the rotten, heavily edited VHS version BLOOD MOON that was released twenty ...

Funny Games movie (American Remake) 2008
I was a bit apprehensive about whether this remake would be as good as the original. But then I realize that this film was made by the same director. It is then that I realized that all the nuances were the same as the first ...

Fun With Dick And Jane (movie)
Fun With Dick And Jane is a hilarious movie about a married couple, Dick (played by the wonderful Jim Carrey) and Jane (played by Tea Leoni). Dick and Jane live in your typical upper middle class neighborhood in the suburbs of a large city. Their neighbors all have the ...

Fab Five Texas Cheerleading Scandal
My wife and I were flipping channels the other day trying to find something that wasn’t a re-run we’ve seen 100 times before. After a frustrating search, we decided to watch the made-for-tv movie Fab Five Texas Cheerleading Scandal, which is apparently based on a true story we never ...

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (PG-13, 2008) movie
I usually don't like these mummy movies. But a friend of mine dragged me out to see this one, and I was not that displeased. I will say that the story itself was kind of charming. There was plenty of action so as not ...

Grendel John Gardner
John Gardner 'Grendel'. Probably, most people heard about Grendel, an infamous monster, a half-human who used to terrorize Dans' villages. It's considered to be one of the first and fundamental texts of English literature. In fact, it is written in Anglo-Saxon, which is completely incomprehensible for us ...
