Flents Magic Touch Bite ReliefItem: Flents Magic Touch Bite Relief
I am literally covered in mosquito bites right now. And, the sad thing is that I’ve hardly been outside longer than it takes me to walk the dogs or take the trash to the curb, or get into my car and head to work! But, the mosquitos have already come out (early in the season) in force, and are wrecking their havoc on me as usual. I react very badly to mosquito bites as well. Not only does the actual bite itch my like crazy, but I also have a phobia about bugs in general and so when I see one bite on my body, I feel like everything itches all the time, and I end up scratching myself like crazy, and sometimes scratching myself raw. If I don’t catch a bite in the early stages and start treating it with an anti-itch lotion then you can just forget it because I’ll be miserable for days. I can’t even open my back door without mosquitos flying in thanks to the marsh we live next to, and the humid Michigan weather right now.
I bought Flents Magic Touch Bite Relief mostly because it was in the shape of a pen and could easily fit in my pocket. I can’t stop to obsessively scratch a mosquito bite every ten seconds when I’m at work, but I can’t stop to apply messy lotions either. I need something I can dab on the spot and get on with my day without messing with too much hassle. It even comes with a little clip on the cap, so if I’m wearing something without a pocket, I can still clip it on to my waist band and pull my shirt down and no one is ever the wiser that I’m carrying it with me. It has a sort of q-tip like applicator tip that isn’t uncomfortable at all to rub against the skin, but sometimes it seems a bit difficult to get any product to come out through it and it feels like I have to press much harder than I’d like. It would’ve been nicer if it had some sort of roller-ball applicator tip, but the product is way too thick for something like that to work. One thing I really loved about this product though, aside from it’s convenient size and carrying clip, is the fact that it contains natural ingredients in it like myrrh and menthol and other aromatherapy oils. It actually smells quite nice for a bug bite application. I wasn’t expecting that at all. And, I can rub it on a mosquito bite (like I did just five minutes ago) and feel immediate relief from the itching. And if they bite doesn’t itch, then my paranoia doesn’t kick in making the rest of me itch either. For that, the product is worth it no matter what. The one thing I have to say about it, though, is that it really doesn’t have that much longevity. It’s not like I can apply it and forget about that bite for the rest of the day. In fact, it doesn’t make any garauantees about how long the relief will last, but something longer than a half an hour would be nice. Unfortunately, such was not the case. I find myself having to reapply it twice an hour to continue the relief, and even then sometimes, if it’s more than one bite, I don’t always feel the relief even that long. That’s a bit disappointing, but I guess I can’t complain too much since it only cost about $3 and fits so nicely in a pocket or on a waist band. I can use it at work without a problem, and I haven’t had the applicator tip malfunction on me at all. It’s difficult the first couple times to get anything to come out, but beyond that it seemed to work pretty seemlessly. Just not long enough for my liking. The only flaw to this product. Rating: 8
