Seasonale is a birth control pill that has been on the market for quite some time now. It is commonly distributed by doctors and has, for the most part, earned its reputation as being a reliable method of providing birth control for couples across America. One side effect of Seasonale that many women complain about is the mood swings they can experience while they are ingesting their inactive pills during their monthly cycle. Many women often feel like they experience crankiness, fatigue, lethargy, or just a shortness of temper while they are taking their inactive pills, but often experience no major side effects while taking their regular pills during the cycle. Despite complaints, women often still continue to use Seasonale becuause with this method of birth control, a woman will acutally only get a period once every eighty four days. Most women enjoy not having to worry about the fuss of having a period each month, so Seasonale is often one of their best options for pregnancy prevention. Now, however, there is a new method of birth control that will be hitting the pharmacy shelves everywhere called Seasonique. It is basically another form of Seasonale, only it has been modified so that during the off cycle for the pills, a woman might not endure feelings of crankiness, mood swings, letharthy, or fatigue, as some do with Seasonale. Seasonique’s method of birth control is help to reduce these unpleasant side effects because during the week when a woman is not taking the pill on a daily basis, Seasique’s birth control actually allows for low doses of estrogen to be distributed throughout the woman’s body. This estrogen, even when in low doses, is often enough to make women feel like they are not completely up and thriving and feeling great while they are taking their pills, but down and tired and moody when they are not. I, for one, congratulate the manufacturers for creating a product that is similar to Seasonale, but without as many side effects. This marketing technique is not only a great idea to keep sales up for the company, but for women who swear by Seasonale and like only getting a period once every eighty four days, they can simply feel like they are continuing to use the same product, but at the same time, reducing some unpleasant side effects that may be occurring! I started taking Seasonique in October, had my first period the week of January 1 also had my first bought of bacterial vaginosis that same week. I have had several recurrances in the last three months. Is this a possible side effect of Seasonique?? It just seems curious to me that it all began the same week I had my first period on this birth control. I have been on birth control for sixteen years just switched to Seasonique in October. I have never had bv before, but now it seems I can`t get rid of it.
