Conair Ion Shine Instant Heat Hair SetterItem: Conair Ion Shine Instant Heat Hair Setter
I had a big event coming up but decided to splurge on a more expensive dress and forego the hair appointment to put my hair in an up style. Luckily, I had had received a Conair Ion Shine Instant Hair Setter for my birthday and had been looking for an excuse to use it.
When you purchase the Ion Shine you receive a main warming unit and twenty rollers of all different sizes. The rollers are made in such a way that they are a hard plastic on the outside, padded in a velvety textured surface on the rolling portion, and then are ingeniously cut out up the center so that they can stand up in the warming unit and get the rollers ceramic internal plates hot. I have used several rollers in the past but not with nearly as well a made construction. Some rollers for example are not padded and can tug or cause hair breakage. The Conair rollers are coated in a fuzzy material that seems to be gentler on the hair. For another thing, I have had roller sets that have a snap around enclosure that can actually pull hair out or be very uncomfortable to wear while your hair sets. This is simply not the case with the Conair Ion Shine Instant Heat Hair Setter. After you roll the hair on to the rollers you simply attach the specially made roller clips that tightly secure the roller, but don’t pull at the hair. These clips adjust to all the roller sizes and attach quite easily. I’m no hairdresser, but I was able to make awesome curls using this Conair setter. I mean this is so easy to use! All I do is plug in the Ion Shine warming unit and wait about two minutes for the unit to warm up. The top of the unit is see through so as it heats it starts to look steamy. When it’s ready, I open the lid by lifting the two handles. The handles which pull the lid apart swing back into two pieces for easy roller access and removal. Once I am ready to use the rollers for setting my hair I simply choose the size of the roller that I want to use to achieve that look. Usually, the smaller the roller the tighter the curl however if you have really long hair you may not be able to use the smaller rollers unless you use them on bangs or on shorter layers. I then just carefully remove the roller from the warming unit and place it on my already sectioned hair. It’s easier if you section and clip back your hair before you start to roll, so that you can take down a section, and roll it one at a time without the other hair in your way. Next I attach the clip and finish setting the rest of my hair. By the time I have completed my last roll, the first ones can actually be taken out! It is that fast. I love the Conair Ion Shine Instant Heat Hair Setter; the ions even seem to make my hair look shiny and healthier. Rating: 9
