Coby Super Bass Digital Stereo HeadphonesItem: Coby Super Bass Digital Stereo Headphones
I am so annoyed after purchasing the Coby Super Bass Digital Stereo Headphones for my son. He likes to listen to the computer on his head phones, in order to drown out background noise while he does his homework. I choose this particular model because they looked like they were solidly made and had several features we were looking for. Unfortunately they snapped during the first week we used them.
In case you are unfamiliar with the Coby Super Bass Digital Stereo Headphones, they are open air type that has an adjustable head band and large soft ear pads for extra comfort. They have a four foot cord and attach by a small plug. They also have a rotary volume control unit and cobalt drivers for extra heavy bass response. They appeared to be exactly what we were looking for. They fit comfortably and the ear pads didn’t become uncomfortable despite multiple hours of use. The only problem is that they didn’t last a week in our house. I got to use them once, and my son used them maybe three times total. After that they just snapped, and became totally unusable. About the only nice thing I can say about the Coby Headphone set is that it came with a bonus set of ear bud headphones that had their own carrying case. Luckily we have started using them although they don’t have the sound drowning quality of the large ear pads. Like most other products I purchase, once I used the headphones for a week or so, I threw away the plastic packaging they came in. So even though I should have been able to return them, I no longer could without it. I hate it when that happens, especially since as I stated earlier, it was only about a week old when it snapped. The funny thing is that I later found the package insert even though I had disposed of the package, and it had all kinds of cautions on it. It stated several ways that the Headphones could be damaged if not used properly. Although we did nothing wrong, they still snapped which leads me to believe that they were no good to start with. I mean it’s not like we left them in direct sunlight or in high temperatures as warned on the leaflet. They were sitting beside a computer in an air-conditioned home. I think they were made cheaply and it shows by how little we were able to use them. So if you see the Coby Super Bass Digital Stereo Headphones with Volume Control keep on walking. They are flimsy and poorly made, and will probably last only a few short days before they succumb to ravages of very minimal use. I’d be the first one to say if I thought that we had been harsh on them, or inadvertently destroyed them, but it was so pitiful when they snapped. They really weren’t worth a dime. The one thing that saves them from being a complete rip-off, is the bonus ear buds set that were are now using in their place. Rating: 1
