Nikko Hotel OsakaItem: Nikko Hotel Osaka
I was in Japan last week for some business trip. I was there for about a week because there were some really important matters that needed some discussion. I had not planned to stay that long but I had no choice. We are not going to talk about that though. The thing that I am going to talk about is the hotel that I stayed in for the whole week. Japan has always been a favorite country of mine. If only I can master Nippongo that well, I can be a frequent visitor there. That is the only thing thats stopping me because everytime I go there, I have to hire a personal english-speaking tour guide to take care of my itenirary for the day. Given that the country is technologically advance, I am really scared where it will leave me if I will wander not knowing how to speak their language.
First off, the location was perfect. You wouldn’t have trouble going around because the hotel was located at the heart of the city. In addition to that, the hotel is strategically located near two of most famous tourist spots of this city. The business district was not so far from it too. Whoever planned the location for this hotel was a total genius if you ask me. It is near the transportation hub too. But if you don’t know how to speak their language then don’t bother. You still can’t understand the signs in the subway. I also find the hotel’s design very elegant. Every corner was really finely detailed and elegant. I had a little problem because the staff, all of them, did not know how to speak even basic English. If I did not know how to speak a little Japanese I would have not been able to communicate with them. I guess it was good that I attended my Japanese classes when I was still in school. Despite the fact that they did not speak English, they were all still very accommodating. They always attend to my need with a smile on their face. The rooms that they had were also very neat and it was obvious that they thoroughly cleaned each and every corner of it. As for the equipment and other stuff inside the room, it was all modern and up to date.I really marveled at the room because of its cleanliness and being equipped with lots of modern stuffs. I like the interior too because it new. The concept was modern and I really liked it. I did not have the luxury of having the suite type of room but their regular rooms weren’t half bad at all. In fact it can be compared to other hotel’s suite types. The hotel’s restaurant also offered a wide variety of traditional Japanese dishes. I always liked Japanese food so I really enjoyed every meal there. The set up of their restaurant was also very traditional. There were no chairs and everyone just sat on the floor just like what the Japanese used to do. I did enjoy the feeling of this raw Japanese experience. It was inspiring albeit challenging. I just love the quality of Japanese food they offer. Sushi has been my favorite snack since I strictly observe diet way back and while I was here, I had the experience of tasting almost all kinds. The taste was superior. I really find this hotel great. I am truly amazed by the way they made the exterior and interior designs for the hotel. The only problem about this hotel was the staff did not speak English. But if you have a translator or a little Japanese background then you would not have any problems at all. Rating: 9
