Waterpik Dental Water JetsItem: Waterpik Dental Water Jets
As if it wasn’t enough to want gorgeous pearly whites and fresh breath, scientists have now determined a causal link between gum disease and a host of other dangerous illness including heart disease. Enough said, I ran out and purchased a Waterpik Dental water jet system PDQ!
Simply said, I want the healthiest smile possible and if that means I have to beef up my usual brush and floss routine well, so be it. Now with the aid my mighty Waterpik, I can attack harmful bacteria between my teeth and down below the gum line before it can harden into tartar and plaque. The beauty of the Waterpik is that it is not at all painful or unpleasant yet, it’s able to go where regular toothbrush miss and attack the cause of the problem. Personally, I like the feeling of the water pressure and pulsations. Not to mention my mouth has never felt cleaner, or fresher, and my teeth seem to sparkle. I wish I had purchased this sooner, and now plan to purchase them for other family members as well. When I purchased my Waterpik Dental Water Jet System I received: the base unit, the water reservoir, a handle with pressure control switch, and cord. I also received three attachments which included the jet tip, the tongue cleaner tip, and the pik pocket tip. The base has an on/off switch, a pump inlet, cord storage in the base, and places to hold the handle and tip attachments. Using the Waterpik is very easy! First, I fill the water reservoir with lukewarm water and place it back on the base. Next, I insert the tip attachment into the handle and then adjust the water pressure setting. Finally, I aim the tip toward my teeth and slide the on switch up. The proper technique for using the Waterpik is to the direct the stream of water at a 90 degree angle against the gum line. First, start in the back molar area and then work your way forward towards the front teeth. Glide the tip against the gums but pause between each tooth so that you can remove particles trapped between the teeth. At anytime you can stop the flow by using the pause control button on the handle. When you are finished, you simply turn the unit off, unplug it, and dump out any remaining water from the reservoir. You can also wipe it with a damp cloth if the base or handle gets dirty. In all, I really like my Waterpik and don’t mind adding it to my nightly routine. I like knowing that I am doing everything possible to maintain good dental hygiene and prevent gum disease and other serious illness. The Waterpik is very easy to set up and use. It takes very little time to actually perform the cleaning, and it leaves you with fresh breath, whiter teeth, and a really clean feeling mouth. I also like that in addition to water, the Waterpik can also dispense mouthwash and other oral rinses for even more preventive care. Rating: 10
